IQPro Configs

COMPUTERS
IQPro works on any computers running Windows XP or newer. There are no special hardware, storage or memory requirements. We suggest that you obtain a modern machine (Dual or Quad core or better) with Windows 7 operating system and 500G or larger hard disk. The computer will need a network 10/100 port and a serial and parallel port for Tech Station installations. A standard flat panel display will suffice, 19' units give users lots of display real estate and are easy on the eyes.

PRINTERS
IQPro will work with your printers (provided you have them installed with correct drivers) for various reporting tasks. We have specified thermal label printers for Tect Labels because users cannot alter warranty dates or weights and thermal labels are cheap ( about 1/2 a penny or less). Also, thermal label printers require little or no maintenance, no ink, toner or ribbons and are rated at millions of lables per print head. Bullet proof industrial thermal label printers are also available on the used market inexpensively.

HIGH ACCURACY DIGITAL SCALES
IQPro is designed to work with lab quality digital scales (often refered to as balances) that have a data port. We provide a rugged scale with IQPro Tech Station that is accurate to 1/100th of a gram. As an example, a tooth round pick weighs in at 14 100ths of a gram, a tech label 8 100ths of a gram. You may recall that 1 cubic centimeter of water (1 cc) weighs 1 gram. Because the IQPro cartridge database knows what cartridges weigh when empty, it can, with great accuracy, determine proper cartridge fill weights.

NETWORK
IQPro communicates between various modules via network connection. You do not need a server or special hardware. A simple peer to peer network using a network hub or switch will do the job nicely and is available from your DSL or cable provider for under $100 in most cases.

INTERNET
IQPro accesses the internet to send text and email messages, IQcartridge requires access to your IQPro computer for software support services.

SOFTWARE
Your IQPro computer does not require additional software though you may want to install your favorite word processing and email client programs.
